Sanitation workers, who begin their duties at daybreak and continue undeterred by rain, heat or cold, form the backbone of the municipal service system. Tasked with waste clearance, environmental sanitation and safeguarding public health, they rarely find time for celebration, rest or recreation in their daily lives.
