JCB Alert Begins in Belagavi!
Illegal buildings face the bulldozer!
Special Report – This is Belagavi
Belagavi:
After years of silence over unauthorized constructions, the Belagavi City Corporation has finally awakened. Since the appointment of new Commissioner Shubha B., the previously inactive civic body is showing signs of discipline, clarity, and bold administrative action.

The Corporation’s first direct action against an illegal building has opened a new chapter in Belagavi’s civic administration — rebuilding public trust and sending shivers down the spine of the construction mafia.
Justice Triumphs Over Illegal Construction!

In Scheme No. 56 of Hanuman Nagar’s 2nd Stage, a building was illegally constructed despite complaints from local residents. The Corporation, until recently, chose to ignore the issue.
However, in April 2024, the district sessions court issued a clear directive to demolish the unauthorized part of the structure. Commissioner Shubha B., taking the court’s order seriously, enforced it with unwavering determination.
A strong message has now been sent to the city: “Those who defy the law, beware!”
Operation Discipline: 31-Member Team in Action
As part of this decisive move, the Commissioner formed a 31-member official task force to execute the demolition.
While some officials from the Town Planning section showed signs of delay early in the day, Zonal Commissioner Anishetter took charge in the afternoon and ensured the court’s orders were implemented responsibly — a clear display of administrative grit.
“This is just the beginning!”
The bulldozer rolled into Hanuman Nagar for the first time, but this is only the first step. The Corporation has now prepared a list of illegal constructions under Section 321, and enforcement is expected to continue silently but steadily.
A culture of “zero tolerance for violations” appears to be emerging, bringing a new sense of hope to Belagavi’s citizens.
Belagavi Says: “Shabash!”

Commissioner Shubha B., instead of sheltering the corrupt, has stood firm for rule-based governance. Her decisions are crafting a new legacy of integrity within the civic system.
In contrast to the silence of elected representatives and past administrative indifference, the public is now applauding her boldness with a resounding “Shabash!”
There is little doubt that Belagavi City Corporation is now on track to earn the title of “the richest civic body after Bengaluru.”

Action Against Internal Officials: Still Pending?
There is growing pressure on the Commissioner to initiate disciplinary action against section officials who failed to comply with court orders for so long.
Meanwhile, there are also rising demands for a deeper probe into other unauthorized building approvals cleared by the Town Planning Section.
Because this isn’t just about one building — it’s a wake-up call for the entire system.
