BJP is moving towards victory…

New Delhi: The vote counting for the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections is underway, and the BJP party is crossing the magic number, moving towards victory. If the BJP ultimately secures the win, it will reclaim the Chief Minister’s post in the national capital after nearly 27 years. They are set to ascend to power. The last time the BJP governed Delhi was in 1998.

It was the year 1998. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister of the country at the time. During that period, onion prices had skyrocketed across the nation. To quell the rising public anger against the Delhi state government, the BJP appointed Sushma Swaraj, then a prominent and dynamic leader, as the Chief Minister of Delhi.

Thus, in 1998, Sushma Swaraj made history by becoming Delhi’s first female Chief Minister. Unfortunately, her tenure lasted only 52 days. She later lost the election and had to resign from her position.
