Disqualification of City Councilors – Stay Order from High Court
Bengaluru:
The High Court has issued a stay order on the Regional Commissioner’s decision to disqualify two BJP city councilors in connection with the “Tinisu Katte” case.

The court has ruled that the disqualified councilors, Jayant Jadhav and Mangesh Pawar, are eligible to contest elections.

Just recently, the appellate authority under the Urban Development Department had rejected the appeals of both members. In response, they approached the High Court for relief.

It is worth noting that Abhay Patil, the MLA of Belagavi South constituency, had strongly expressed dissatisfaction with the Regional Commissioner’s order and had even lodged a complaint with the Governor.

Advocate Poonam Patil represented the disqualified councilors in the case.
