What Happened?
A 19-year-old woman, Narisng, who was in the midst of her education, reportedly fell in love with a 23 year-old construction labour named Sadruddin. For the past year and a half, the couple had been in a romantic relationship.

As their love progressed, they decided to seek their families’ approval to take their relationship to the next level.

However, religion became an obstacle to their love. The young woman, who lost her father in her childhood, was raised by her mother under her care. When the mother learned about the relationship, she strongly opposed it. She firmly stated, “I will not let my daughter ruin her future.”

Meanwhile, Sadruddin’s family had initially shown consent to the relationship, but eventually, Sadruddin, frustrated by the situation, made a firm decision to hold onto his love and declared that he would marry her.

In the meantime, the mother began pressuring her daughter daily, urging her not to think about marriage. Yielding to her mother’s words, the young woman attempted to let go of the relationship. However, Sadruddin did not give her the chance to do so.

Meanwhile, on the 4th of last month, the young woman went missing from her home. Despite her mother searching everywhere for her, no clues were found. Even after 17 days, (the young woman) did not return home.

Consequently, the mother filed a complaint with the rural police, alleging that her daughter had been abducted. The police have now formed three teams to search for her.

This case has become a challenge for the Belagavi police. “We have formed three special teams to locate the young woman,” said Police Commissioner Yada Matrin Marbaniang.

Currently, the incident has taken a highly sensitive turn, intertwining love and religion.
