Congress Corporator’s Arrogance in Belagavi correction
Belagavi:
An incident of arrogance by a Congress corporator against an on-duty revenue department officer of the Belagavi city Corporation occurred today.
Riyaz Killedar, the corporator of Ashok Nagar ward, allegedly misbehaved with revenue department officer Anishetter. Reports suggest that the corporator had instructed the officer to issue a PID (Property Identification Number) for a land transaction unrelated to him the previous evening. The officer had informed him that he would review the documents the next day.

However, today, Anishetter was at the annex building of the main corporation office, as he was the nodal officer for the government’s ambitious e-Khata project. At that time, corporator Riyaz Killedar called the officer again. When the officer requested ten minutes to check the documents, Killedar reportedly stormed into the office in a fit of rage, aggressively confronted the officer, and used abusive language.
Hearing the commotion, fellow corporator Dinesh Nashipudi and others intervened and advised Killedar against such behavior. Later, Deputy Commissioner (admn ) Uday Kumar talwar summoned both parties to his chamber for discussions.
Meanwhile, in the border town of Belagavi, MES (Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti) activists have been pressuring officers to issue records in Marathi. In such a tense atmosphere, a Congress corporator obstructing a government officer’s duty and using foul language has sparked public outrage.
This incident has raised a critical question: Are government officers in Belagavi safe anymore?
