CORPORATION CRISIS: CABINET NOD MUST TO PAY 20 CRORE COMPENSATION ?
Belagavi: Even as the civic body in Belagavi City Corporation has passed a unanimous resolution to pay Rs 20 crore to the people affected by the road development works taken up by the corporation in Shahpur area, it has come to light that the approval of state cabinet is mandatory for the corporation to pay a huge sum of Rs 20 crore.
Recently, the court had ordered the City Corporation to deposit Rs 20 crore in the account of Assistant Commissioner so that all the people affected by the road works are compensated.
In an emergency meeting recently, the mayor passed a resolution, assuring to pay Rs 20 crore to the affected parties. However, it is a million dollar question as to whether the corporation can clear a whopping Rs 20 crore compensation without the cabinet’s green signal ?
