In December 2023 Government of Karnataka issued order terminating the service of Dr. Kiran R. Naik as Commandant, Home Guards, Belagavi district citing false allegations. After deliberate appeals to competent authority for Justice, Dr. Kiran R. Naik filed Writ petition in Honourable High Court,
Dharwad Bench praying for the removal of stigma attached and for continuation of service. After ample of hearings Judge of Honourable High Court, Dharwad Bench, quashed the termination order issued by Government of Karnataka and gave relief to Dr. Kiran R. Naik from the stigma attached and has also directed Home Secretary of Government of Karnataka and DGP of Home Guards to consider the extension or reappoint of Dr. Kiran R. Naik as Commandant, Home Guards, Belagavi district as per his requisition.
**Some Home Guards Staff and Officers to camouflage their wrongdoings had purposely hatched conspiracy to oust Dr. Kiran R. Naik as Commandant citing false allegations, for which Dr. Kiran R. Naik said a defamation case shall be filed against the wrong doers in the Court of Law.
