Short movie ‘Smart Sankata’ by Belagavi youths making sound on social media.

Belagavi: There is no dearth of talents in Belagavi. What is lacking is opportunities. Despite that, it is a positive development that some talents are making their mark on the television and silver screen these days.

A fresh example of this is the short film ‘Smart Sankata’ produced by the Belagavi youths. This film, which sheds light on the growing mobile obsession among children, has made a small effort to open the eyes of society and is making a sound on social media.

Law student Kiran Uppar of Belgavi and engineering student Supriya play the lead roles and Khushi plays a child actress in this film. The chemistry of the trio comes across well in the film and keeps the audience hooked till the end.

Coming to the story, the hero and the heroine, who work together to bring out the girl from her mobile obsession, is the movie all about. Director Ravi Gowda has succeeded in giving the audience the content of the story effectively without getting bored anywhere.

The subject chosen for the film is a familiar story and will be relatable to everyone. Earlier, children used to play outside and come home tired. They used to eat well, sleep well and be healthy. Nowadays children are obsessed with mobile phones and avoid going outside. It is a matter of concern that some of the parents are giving mobile phones to their children and making them obsessed. The short film ‘Smart Sankata’ focuses on that.

The film is produced under Sriratna Film Company owned by Belagavi Nitin and has cinematography by Mohankumar MS. Gagandeep Kurale has given background music and editing has been done by Undersky Creations. Dubbed at Paradise Studios. The entire shooting of the film took place in Belagavi.
