“MLA Sets Out in Search of Problems”

Belagavi:
In an era where people’s representatives tend to stay away from problems, an MLA has taken the initiative to seek out issues and visit voters’ homes.

With the state’s guarantee schemes faltering and the government struggling with financial difficulties, funds for development projects are scarce. During such tough times, people’s problems only multiply, but very few leaders take the time to listen.

However, BJP MLA Abhay Patil from Belagavi South constituency has launched an innovative program to identify and address public issues. Known for his unique initiatives in his constituency, he has once again started his “Cycle Ferry” campaign.

While some politicians visit voters in luxury cars only during elections, Abhay Patil makes it a point to connect with them at least once every three months—election or not—using his bicycle. Going door-to-door on a cycle and patiently listening to people’s concerns is not new for him. Today, he has resumed this initiative.

Starting at 7:30 AM, he set off on his bicycle, braving the scorching sun, and toured three to four wards. He visited Tilakwadi in Ward 43 and areas in Ward 29, interacting with voters and listening to their grievances. Additionally, he covered locations like RC Nagar and Parvati Nagar, where a flood of complaints emerged, mainly concerning garbage disposal, drinking water shortages, and traffic congestion.

While he provided immediate solutions in some places, in others, he assured people that a meeting with officials would be conducted to resolve the issues.

Ward 43 corporator Vani Joshi, Ward 29 corporators Nitin Jadhav and Jayant Jadhav, and several others were present during the visit.
