Lokayukta officials conducted a raid on Belagavi’s BIMS (Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital and college, thoroughly examining important documents.
Under the leadership of Belagavi Lokayukta SP Hanumantharay, officials scrutinized documents in the office of BIMS Director Dr. Ashok Kumar Shetty.
It is reported that they gathered information related to irregularities in medicine procurement, negligence of doctors in duty, and details regarding the deaths of patients in the multi-specialty hospital.
Regarding the raid, BIMS Director Dr. Ashok Pattanashetty stated that visits from government departments are routine. He mentioned that the Lokayukta officials visited BIMS, collected information about the hospital’s finance department, super-specialty services, and staff. They conducted a general visit and gathered details about the hospital’s shortcomings.
