As per the High Court’s directive, the names of two corporators have been included in the mayor and deputy mayor elections of the municipal corporation.
With this development, the uncertainty regarding the postponement of the mayoral election has been cleared. As a result, the election is now confirmed to take place on the 15th.
In connection with the Tinisukattee case, the regional commissioner had issued an order canceling the membership of BJP corporators Jayant Jadhav and Mangesh Pawar.
Following this, both corporators, under the guidance of MLA Abhay Patil, had approached the High Court. During the recent hearing, dissatisfaction was expressed over the officer’s action of revoking their membership.
Now, as per the High Court’s order, the municipal corporation has reinstated their names.
