Belagavi Smart City: Mayor Mangesh Pawar, Deputy Mayor Vani Vilas Joshi Hold Detailed Discussion with France Delegation

A high-level discussion was held between the visiting team of experts from France and Belagavi city officials to assess the technical aspects and implementation progress of the ongoing Smart City project. The meeting took place at the Smart City office conference hall and was attended by Mayor Mangesh Pawar, Deputy Mayor Vani Vilas Joshi, Municipal Commissioner Shubha B., and Smart City MD Afrida Banu.
During the meeting, Commissioner Shubha B. presented detailed information on the key ongoing projects under the Smart City initiative. She provided technical updates on road widening, drainage improvement, smart signal systems, and the implementation of drinking water supply projects.
Mayor Mangesh Pawar stated that the Smart City project plays a vital role in the overall development of the city.
Deputy Mayor Vani Vilas Joshi also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of citizen-centric planning.
Luke Leblanc, the head of the French delegation, remarked, “We are offering recommendations for implementing environmentally friendly and long-term sustainable projects that suit the geographical conditions of Belagavi. Planned integration can lead to effective urban development.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided to share regular progress reports on major projects. In addition, special campaigns will be undertaken to raise public awareness.
After the meeting, the French delegation visited the Turmuri Solid Waste Management Plant.
