A Record Profit of ₹13.26 Crore Under Balachandra’s Leadership!

Belagavi:
The Belagavi Milk Union (BEMUL) has recorded its highest-ever financial achievement, posting a profit of ₹13.26 crore for the financial year 2024–25.

Speaking at a press conference held in the city today, Arabhavi MLA and BEMUL President Balachandra Jarkiholi shared this achievement. He stated that BEMUL is a symbol of the farmers’ trust and confidence.

The union’s total turnover for the year stood at ₹399.50 crore, which is a 24% increase compared to last year’s ₹320.83 crore. He attributed this success to efficient management, cost control, and the implementation of farmer-friendly technologies.

A Sea of Self-Reliance in Cooperation

Balachandra Jarkiholi emphasized that instead of spending this profit on any political formalities, BEMUL has directly allocated it for the empowerment of milk producers and milk societies.

He announced that:

50 milk milking machines,

400 fodder-cutting machines, and

Rubber mats for 10,000 farmers
will be distributed using the profit share.

Bulk Milk Cooling Units, building grants, and essential facilities for market supply will be provided at a 60% subsidy. He added that this is a responsible example of how profits and profit policies can be used effectively.

The current daily average milk procurement stands at 2.10 lakh kilograms, reflecting a 22% increase. Sale of milk in flexi-packs reached 80 lakh litres, a 196% increase.

Sales of ghee, curd, paneer, and kunda have increased by 10% to 49%, and the market has expanded from border areas to cities like Mumbai and parts of Andhra Pradesh.

During this year’s Savadatti Yellamma fair and festive seasons, lakhs of units of buttermilk and sweet products were supplied, he noted.

Ready for a Hi-Tech Mega Dairy

Jarkiholi also revealed a proposal to establish a hi-tech mega dairy with an estimated cost of ₹350 crore, and land identification for the project is currently underway.

He detailed that the project will include the procurement of bactofuge machines, CBMM units, cold storage facilities, packaging machines, and expansion of chilling centers — all of which are under planning.

BEMUL directors and Managing Director Dr. Srikant V.N. and others were present at the event.
