“ *Take Strict Action!”*
AKBMS district president Akshay Kulakarni has alleged that acts such as cutting the janivara and tearing off the ekashikha are deeply hurtful to the sentiments of all Hindus.
He condemned the incident in Tirthahalli Taluk of Shivamogga district, where the sacred thread of a Brahmin student was reportedly torn off, calling it an uncivilized act.
“The janivara is not just a thread. It symbolizes thousands of years of tradition, discipline, and cultural values. Forcibly removing it is a grave insult to the intellectual heritage of the Brahmin community, which has long stood against various forms of subjugation,” he said in a statement.
He also recalled that there were statewide protests in the past when former AKBMS president Ashok Haranahalli was subjected to insults aimed at the Brahmin community.
He further warned, “No one should mistake the calm nature and spiritual strength of Brahmins as weakness. Peace is our weapon, but if necessary, we have the strength to stand up against evil to protect our dharma.”
“In this country, the dignity of every community must be upheld. But attempts to undermine the self-respect of Brahmins in the name of social justice or any other agenda will never succeed,” said Akshay Kulakarni.
