Impact of ‘Five Guarantees’ in Belagavi:
Development Projects Worth Thousands of Crores – Minister Satish Jarkiholi

District-in-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi said that under the Congress government’s flagship ‘Five Guarantees’ scheme led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, numerous development programs worth thousands of crores of rupees are being implemented in Belagavi district.

He was speaking at a media interaction organized today by the Belagavi Press Club (Print Journalists Association) in the city.
Minister Jarkiholi stated that the Five Guarantees are not only politically significant for Belagavi but are also paving a new path socially. “It’s important that the public understands the reach and impact of these schemes, even beyond the legislative sessions, through direct public contact,” he added.

He gave a comprehensive outline of the government’s achievements and affirmed, “We are committed to the development of Belagavi. The impact of these guarantees is already visible in the lives of rural residents. Such schemes pave the way for permanent change.”

According to him:
Under the Anna Bhagya scheme, ₹1,025.49 crore has been spent to benefit 36.26 lakh people in the district.
Under the Shakti scheme, an average of 5.40 lakh women avail free bus travel daily, costing ₹784.45 crore so far.
The Gruha Jyothi scheme has provided free electricity to 10.16 lakh households, amounting to ₹804.37 crore.
Through the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, 11.32 lakh women have received direct financial assistance, with a total of ₹4,092.58 crore disbursed so far.
In the Yuva Nidhi scheme, ₹28.93 crore has been directly transferred to 96,859 unemployed youth.
Social Impact
Calling the Five Guarantee schemes a reflection of the government’s true social commitment, Minister Jarkiholi said these initiatives have instilled confidence among the poor in Belagavi. “These programs are not meant only for political favorites — they are reaching everyone equally, and that’s what truly matters,” he emphasized.
He also shared other development data:
Under the Amrit Sarovar project, 228 lakes have been developed.
383 anganwadi (childcare) centers and 515 rural roads are being developed at a cost of ₹232.28 crore.
Drinking water projects worth ₹963 crore are underway to serve multiple villages.
During the event, the Minister was felicitated by the print media association . Belagavi North MLA Asif Sait was also present on the occasion.
