“Shubharambha” — A Celebration of Diverse Cultures in Belagavi
Belagavi:
The grand ‘Shubharambha’ bride-groom convention held in the border town of Belagavi was not just a platform for seeking life partners; it emerged as a cultural foundation that reminded participants of the values of tradition, togetherness, and social responsibility.

Belagavi Deputy Mayor Smt. Vani Vilas Joshi inaugurated the event by performing the symbolic act of watering a plant. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “Marriage is not merely about uniting two individuals—it’s a union of two families. For a meaningful life, a good heart accompanied by a good life partner is the key. Such a union is equal to finding the path to heaven.”

She emphasized that marriage must be treated as a serious and life-defining commitment. “The increasing number of divorces in today’s society is a matter of concern. Marriage should be a bond of hearts—where silence carries understanding, glances reflect companionship, and words are spoken with respect. If these are present, any issue can be resolved,” she added.
A Platform Reflecting Equality and Harmony
The event was organized under the leadership of Manjunath Gaddenavar through the ‘Shubharambha Bride-Groom Forum’. It stood out as a symbol of interfaith harmony, cultural unity, and social consciousness.

Hundreds of young men and women participated in the gathering, engaging in conversations aimed at choosing suitable life partners. Parents too expressed their gratitude, viewing the event as a meaningful step toward securing their children’s futures.
Several individuals, including Saikumar Malalagi, Deepa Jadhav, Dhanshree Dhekaskar, Raju Divatagi, Yogesh Havala, and Rudrappa Bogur, contributed to the success of the event. The proceedings were gracefully hosted by Sunita Desai.
