Belagavi : Large number of citizens voluntarily donated blood and also got the health check up done at the Blood Donation and Health Check Up Camp that was held at the IMA Hall, Belagavi on Wednesday. Dr Girsh Sonwalkar Foundation in association with Belgaum Blood Bank together with Lakeview Hospital had organised the day long camp that was organised on the occasion of noted social activist and medical practitioner Dr Girish Sonwalkar.
In his address after inauguration of the Camp MLA Asif(Raju) Sait appreciated the initiative and also highlighted the need to organise camps like this for the noble cause benefiting the society. He also appreciated the social endeavour and commitment of Dr Sonwalkar, who he said has been reaching out not only in the urban areas, but also in rural areas of Belagavi and neighbouring districts.
DCP(L&O) Narayan V Barmani, CPI Gaddekar, journalists, social activists and personalities from Belagavi donated the blood. Dr Shweta Sonwalkar, Youth Leader Aman Sait, were present on the occasion. Large number of people also got benefitted from the free health check up camp that was held on the occasion.
