Mention only as Hindu Brahmin
Belagavi,
In the ongoing caste census in the state, all Brahmins should be recorded strictly as Hindu Brahmins, demanded the Belagavi District Brahmin Samaj Trust.
Issuing a press statement, Trust President Ram Bhandare urged that in the religion column it should be marked as Hindu and in the caste column only as Brahmin.

The Hindu Brahmin community has, for centuries, contributed immensely to the spiritual, cultural, and educational fields of this country. Therefore, if our community’s identity is not properly recorded in the census, it may lead to difficulties for the community, he clarified in the statement.
Hence,
in the census records, only the identity “Hindu Brahmins” should be used.
Officials must not create confusion by recording only Brahmin or only Hindu separately, Bhandare appealed.
